My third children’s picture book, One Christmas in Beartown, is out now! It follows on from One Night in Beartown and this time Tommy Pickles plays a much bigger role in the story. I’m very proud of the way the book has turned out, with amazing illustrations once again by Si Clark and a feelgood tale that will hopefully warm the hearts of children and adults alike!

We had a bear-rilliant book launch last week at Bear Grills Cafe (which featured in the first book!). We had a full house of kids turn up, largely courtesy of Marlfields Primary Academy who kindly brought their after-school club along. I enjoyed reading the book to the children, and I was very pleased to hear that they liked the story “even more than the first one”, according to one enthusiastic audience member!

Thanks to everyone who came to the event and thanks to Mark at Bear Grills Cafe for hosting it. We hope to do the same again next year when the next book in the Beartown series is out! I’d also like to thank Si and Emma for helping the launch go smoothly, and all the children who came along and behaved so well. You are all a credit to Congleton.

Lastly, thanks to Kerry Spink from our partners Visyon (a local children’s mental health charity) for coming along and bringing a very special guest: Vinny the Visyon bear! He looked so cool in his orange Visyon T-shirt and I think he really enjoyed being the centre of attention – as you can see in this photo.
