Well, I had a very exciting delivery from the postman yesterday: over 20 letters and cards from the lovely children at Wistaston Primary Academy in Crewe, thanking me for the Zoom session I did with them on World Book Day!

I feel very touched and fortunate to have received such a thoughtful gift in the post, it really means a lot to me to get this kind of positive feedback from a school as it’s from the kids themselves. Thank you to Mrs Moloney and the other staff for arranging it, and to the governor Pam Allen for helping me set up the Zoom session initially and for generously buying copies of my books for the school. Finally, a HUGE thanks to the children for putting so much effort into such well written letters.

I absolutely loved reading all your kind comments about One Night in Beartown, and I’m glad that so many of you enjoyed the bit where the bear gets stuck on the slide! All of your drawings were brilliant too – what a talented bunch you are! If you keep writing and drawing like that, you could all be authors and illustrators too when you grow up!

Thanks so much, Wistaston Primary Academy, for making this children’s author very happy. I hope that I can come and thank you all in person in the not-too-distant future. Who knows, maybe I’ll have a new book to come and read to you then as well!
