Welcome!

Hello and thank you for visiting my new website. My name’s Nick Jones and I’ve been writing books for about four years now. I started off with joke books. As a long-time pun obsessive and a big fan of comedy, it was probably only a matter of time before I tried my hand at joke writing, but it was reading The Biggest Ever Tim Vine Joke Book that finally got the ball pen rolling. When you read a quickfire joke book like that, with one-liner after one-liner hitting you in quick succession, it gets you ‘in the zone’ and you start to notice how different types of jokes are formed. Well, that’s what happened to me anyway.

So, I started to spend my spare time writing gags, and three years later I had a trilogy of joke books to my name: Gagged and Bound, Gagged and Bound 2 and – yes, you guessed it – Gagged and Bound 3. Gagged and Bound 1 was an Amazon best-seller for a while under the Puns & Word Play category, and to date it has 80 reviews (mostly positive – phew!).

Then about a year ago I started writing children’s books. My first picture book, Sarah’s Shadow, was published in December 2017, and so far it has been well received by critics and readers alike. Most importantly of all, children seem to be loving it. I’m now working on a few new titles and will hopefully publish one of them later this year.

So, now that writing books seems to have turned into a long-term venture for me, I figured it was about time I had an author website! So here it is. I’ll try to keep it updated with the latest news on my writing and other interesting bits and bobs, as well as some free content for you to download.
